I recently listened to an impressive speech held by a woman from Africa. She made very clear that by the way how we talk about Africa (3rd world, poor, underdeveloped) we are influencing the way how the continent will develop or not. We are so limited in how we look and act with them. This leads finally to the fact that Africa becomes how we talk about it. This is true and we have to stop doing that. All we see, all we think, all we say is only a very limited part of the full picture. We are focussing only on that what we expect. The rest becomes invisible.
This is the same how we select people in our environment. Ah…he did it again. Fits exactly to my thinking.
